Biografi Singkat Rick Riordan

Richard Russell "Rick" Riordan, Jr. (lahir 5 Juni 1964; umur 52 tahun) adalah penulis seri Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Dia juga menulis seri misteri dewasa, Tres Navarre dan ikut menyunting Demigods and Monsters, buku kumpulan esai mengenai seri Percy Jackson. Dia membantu mengembangkan 10 buku dalam seri The 39 Clues yang diterbitkan oleh Scholastic Corporation, dan menulis buku pertama dari seri tersebut, The Maze of Bones.

Riordan dilahirkan di San Antonio, Texas.Dia lulus dari Universitas Texas di Austin pada 1986, tempat dia mendalami Bahasa Inggris dan Sejarah. Selama lima belas tahun, dia mengajar di sekolah-sekolah di California dan San Antonio. Dia dianugerahi Penghargaan Guru Besar tingkat pertama dari St. Mary's Hall pada 2002.
Riordan telah meraih banyak pencapaian.Seri misteri dewasa Tres Navarre menjadi nomor satu dalam Daftar Buku Terlaris New York Times pada 28 September, 2008. Hak cipta film atas seri novel Percy Jackson and the Olympians dibeli oleh Twentieth Century Fox dan film pertamanya dirilis pada 12 Februari 2010. Rick Riordan tinggal di San Antonio bersama istri dan dua orang putra.
